Mental health

Mental health denotes our rational, behavioral, and emotional wellbeing. It is all about how we reflect, feel, and behave. The term ‘mental health’ is sometimes used to mean a lack of mental problems. It is the condition of someone who is “functioning at a satisfactory level of emotional and behavioral change. The views of optimistic psychology or of holism, mental health can include an individual’s capability to enjoy life.it also includes creating a balance between life activities and efforts to realize psychological resilience.

Mental health problem

It is also called mental health disorders, refers to an extensive range of mental health conditions. Disorders that disturb your mood, thinking, and behavior. Many people have mental health worries from time to time. But a mental health concern becomes a mental illness when ongoing symbols and symptoms cause frequent stress. And affect your ability to the role.

Early signs of mental health problem

  1. Confusion
  2. hostility or violence
  3. Loneliness
  4. Sleep problems
  5. Withdrawal from friends and activities
  6. Suicidal feelings
  7. Feeling sad or down
  8. Consistently low energy
  9. Extreme fears or worries, extreme feelings of guilt
  10. Detachment from reality

Types of mental problems

1.Anxiety disorders

It is the most common type of mental illness. The individual has a severe fear or anxiety, which is linked to definite objects or situations. Most people with an anxiety disorder will try to avoid exposure to whatever activates their anxiety.

Examples of anxiety disorders include:

Panic disorder

It is unexpected segments of strong fear that may contain palpitations, sweating, shaking, shortness of breath, numbness. It can be a feeling that something bad is going to happen.

 Phobias

It is a type of anxiety disorder that indicates a persistent and excessive fear of an object or situation. The phobia typically results in a rapid onset of panic. It is present for more than six months.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

OCD includes annoying and worrying feelings, pictures, or urges (obsessions) that intrude into a child/teen’s attention. It causes a great deal of anxiety or discomfort. Which the child/teen then attempts to reduce by engaging in boring behaviors of rational acts.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

It is a mental health condition that’s caused by a terrifying event — either feeling it or witnessing it. Symptoms may contain flashbacks, nightmares and severe anxiety, as well as uncontrollable thoughts about the event.

2.Bipolar disorder

It is also known as manic depression, is a mental illness that carries severe high and low moods and changes in sleep, energy, thinking, and behavior.

Individuals who have bipolar disorder can have times in which they feel overly happy and energized. Other times they feel very sad, hopeless, and sluggish. In between those periods, they generally feel normal. one can imagine as the highs and the lows as two “poles” of mood. That is why it’s called “bipolar” disorder.

3.Depression

Sadness, feeling down and having a loss of attention or pleasure in daily activities are normal feelings for all of us. But if they continue and affect our lives greatly, the issue may be depression.

Treatment

There are many ways people with mental health problems might get treatment. It is important to identify that what works for one person may not work for another and this is particularly the case with mental health.

Some methods or treatments are more successful when joint with others. A patient with a chronic mental disorder may pick different options at different steps in their life. The majority of specialists say that a well-informed patient is probably the best judge of what treatment suits them best.

Treatments can include:

Psychotherapy – this is a psychological treatment for treating mental illness. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy are examples.

Medication – although it can not cure mental disorders, some medications can recover symptoms.

Self-help – lifestyle changes such as drinking and eating.
